Jacqueline Nairn | Auckland Wedding Celebrant, Actor & TV Film Director

about me

Hi, I'm Jaq

For over a decade, my job as a director has been to take a script, understand the emotional truth inside it, and make sure every single person watching it on television, feels it. Imagine what I can do when the moment is real, the people are yours, and the story is yours.

That is what I bring to your ceremony.

I've been a professional actor for over 20 years, a television drama director for 10, and a wedding celebrant long enough to have stood beside more than 200 couples on the most important day of their lives. I'm also a voice artist - if you've heard an ad on New Zealand radio lately, there's a good chance you've already heard me without knowing it.

All of that is at the centre of every ceremony I create.

More than a celebrant

By your wedding day, I will know your love story well enough to tell it the way it deserves to be told. I understand an audience and how to hold attention so they can’t look away. I know where the laughs will come, where the silence needs to sit, and how to keep every person in the room completely with you.

As an actor, I understand presence, performance and connection. As a director, I understand story, pacing and how to get the most out of every moment. As your celebrant, I put all that to work for you.

And because I'm also an experienced MC, many of my couples choose to have me hold the entire day - ceremony through to the dance floor. One voice. One vision. That continuity is the secret magic of the whole day.

A little more about me

Outside of wedding ceremonies, I'm a director and actor. I'm on set more than I'm not. Which means when I tell you I understand how to create a moment - I'm doing that somewhere on the set of a New Zealand television show.

Your wedding ceremony is the most important scene of your life. And I treat it exactly like that.

I would love to hear your story.
