Elopements & Intimate Ceremonies

Photography by Kiri Marsters

An elopement is about a moment that belongs only to the two of you.

It’s a completely different decision.

It's the two of you choosing each other, clearly and deliberately. There is a particular beauty in that simplicity.

I find elopements genuinely moving - just the two of you standing somewhere beautiful making promises that belong entirely to you.

What I bring to that is exactly what I bring to every ceremony I create. Your story, told the way it deserves to be told. A ceremony that feels as significant as the decision you've made - because it is.

What your elopement looks like with me

I've officiated elopements at Hotel Britomart, on the Piha coastline, on Waiheke Island, in private gardens, and in spots couples have chosen because they were meaningful to them.

I'm also available for elopements in Queenstown, Hawke's Bay, and Christchurch - if you're dreaming of something in one of those places, let's make it happen.

Valentine's Day and off-season elopements

Some of my most memorable ceremonies have been elopements on unexpected days - Valentine's Day, a Wednesday afternoon in winter, a surprise ceremony that only three other people knew about.

If you're thinking about something outside the usual weekend-in-summer format, I'm here for that conversation.

Hotel Britomart was the most beautiful and intimate place to elope. Jaq delivered a ceremony that was warm, personal, and perfectly guided. We couldn't have imagined a better combination for such a special day.

Elopement

$450 + GST

A beautiful, pre-written ceremony for intimate weddings and elopements of up to 10 people. Warm, meaningful, and crafted with real care.

For the couple who wants something real and connected - just not elaborate.

Intimate Ceremony

$600 + GST

For the couple who wants something small but entirely their own.

Same intimacy, same simplicity - but built around your story. We have a proper conversation, I learn what makes your relationship yours, and I write a ceremony that reflects that. Personal, specific, and completely original, just on a smaller and more intimate scale than a full wedding ceremony.

Signature Ceremony

$750 + GST

Your love story, told the way it deserves to be told.

We meet, we talk, and I learn your story well enough to tell it like it's my own. We decide on the kind of ceremony you want, I learn what makes your relationship yours and weave it all together - your words, your tone, your love, turned into something your guests will remember long after the day is over.

Includes a planning meeting to explore your story and vision, a ceremony script written specifically for you, a wide range of vow choices and guidance for writing your own, and suggestions on ceremony elements if you want to add something personal or symbolic.

Sign & Dash

$200 + GST

Sometimes the legal side is all you need - and that's a completely legitimate way to get married. We meet briefly with two witnesses, say the words required by New Zealand law, sign the marriage licence, and you're officially married. Often over coffee. Sometimes over something stronger.

Perfect for couples who want to take care of the paperwork and celebrate in their own way. Please note this option is available in Auckland only.

We’re so grateful for your beautiful work and meaningful guidance through our ceremony at Piha.

You have a natural gift and your presence brought a sense of calm, joy and sincerity that we both deeply felt. Every word you spoke resonated with us and we couldn’t have asked for a more thoughtful and genuine person to help us begin this new chapter of our lives.
